Burgers is one of the top 10 foods in the world. Nobody can resist a good burger for its juicy patties, fresh vegetables with condiments and spongy bread. Good burgers don't have to be expensive, the key will be meat to fat ratio of 70% meat and 30% fat.
Burgs By Project Warung is a Muslim-owned burger brand in Singapore. Run by Indra and Ridz, who worked in Michelin-starred restaurants before this burger adventure. Currently, they have 4 outlets in Singapore! I will be going to the Somerset branch
The Somerset branch is located at 313 Somerset Level 5. It is under a food stall booth from Food Republic, just in front of the escalator.
The Burger Ordered
BLT Beef Burger Meal ( 10.50 SGD )
Meal comes off with the fries. BLT stands for bacon (beef), lettuce and tomatoes. Cheese is included in the burger too.
The buns are airy and buttery, but they are way too soft. When my fingers hold the burger, the buns can't hold the patty and condiments inside. It's like holding a Ramly burger prepared from pasar malam (night bazaar) feeling, pressing too hard the buns are out of shape.
Beef patty is thin but with crust, like a smash-style burger. However, I feel it is overseasoned as it is quite salty. First time having beef bacon is great, it gives you a hearty taste that the pork can't provide.
Don't doubt your eyes, there are no tomatoes inside and I did not a special request 😂. Russian dressing is used on this burger. I am fine with it but others may find it too heavy.
Fries are crispy but served at a lukewarm temperature, probably fried for quite some time. Oil is fresh though.
Thoughts
If you are craving for burgers in town and not wanting to splurge for them, this is the right place for it. the presentation feels like a gourmet burger, beef patty is above average just that it is overseasoned. Buns would need to be reworked though.
On the price point, I guess no one can complain about it. The most affordable burger they have is 5.80 SGD, even Ramly burger now costs 5 SGD, what you can ask for more?
