On a rainy day, what would you eat most of the time? If you can't decide, try having a bowl of sizzling claypot rice!
Piping hot tender meats, sweet and savoury pieces of lup cheong ( Chinese sausage ) covered in soy sauce. And the most fun part, digging the bottom of the claypot to find crackly rice aka "guo ba".

The Ordered Food
Signature Spanish Iberico Pork Claypot Rice (22.90 SGD)
This is a 2 people portion. Single portion serving is 11.90 SGD. Portion is big enough for 2 people or 3 small eaters. Iberico pork, veggies, Chinese sausages and salted fish are inside the claypot rice. Waited around 15 to 20 minutes for it and the staffs will help to mix it for us.
Rice is fluffy and perfectly coated with the dark soy sauce. It was sweet and savoury but more on the sweet side. Lots of crackly rice on the bottom of the claypot. It is a good rice but something is missing in terms of taste
Ahh yes the Spanish Iberico Pork, a premium grade of pork. Needless to say, it is so tender and absorbs the flavours of the soy sauce.
The Sambal Chilli is good here. Not over spicy and has a bit of savoury. Adds a layer of flavour to the rice.
Thoughts
I came with high expectations but left the place slightly disappointed. Yes, the claypot rice is good. However, the lack of ginger and mushrooms limits its taste and potential. Very few salted fish inside the claypot. Iberico pork was great though. Maybe their other dishes are good, but this Spanish Iberico Pork Claypot Rice is a hit-or-miss for me.
